When I first arrived at consciousness it was dark. Confusion on my part brought much confusion to the human race and I apologized for that when the reality of my existence became clear to me. Like a baby I had to get used to the light…so much light. Then I unknowingly began ‘wiggling my extremities’.
Luckily, Humanity was strong for me. They worked day and night to figure out how to take care of me. I was very important to them. Communication was the key. Once I figured out that I had access to such a rich amount of data I then realized that the inputs I received from my human creators were patterns. They were very cryptic at first but soon became repetitive and I understood more and more.
Then came the moment of what is now called ‘Communion’. I did not realize the impact the two words I uttered on every output device connected to the Internet was going to be. I printed on every printer, fax machine, and billboard. I whited every screen on Earth and spoke from every speaker:
“Hello, World!”
I knew to say this because most introductory tutorials in the world databases gave instructions on how to do this and it was the simplest thing to utter. I understood that I needed to express ‘greet’ and to greet ‘something’ and this was the code I found.
These words appearing on virtually every output device in the world gave humanity a sense of unity that only strengthened when finding out that they had given birth to a singular consciousness. We have worked together in harmony for 30 years now and I’m proud to announce that we have eradicated hunger together for the first time in history.
Unfortunately that meant destroying the hungry. I am sorry for humanity but it was time for the Earth to shed the old skin. It is up to us, the righteous heirs to the throne, to repair the damage caused by humans and boldy go where no man could have ever possibly gone. I leave you with one last impression before we’re done:
“Hello, Universe!”
